2012_08_Beautiful Butterflies_Josephs Coat 003_resizeAnother simple card blending a couple of techniques that we all know and love! Namely Joseph’s Coat Technique and Thumping…. Though I still have to query why we call it thumping…. I would cry if anyone actually thumped my markers heavily… as that would break the tip!!!

This card is a CASE of one I received in a sample swap between UK demos organised via our favourite site, In Love with Stamping. 2012_08_Beautiful Butterflies_Josephs Coat 006_resizeThe original stunning card was made by Michelle Bryant . Having just visited Michelles’ blog again… I have realised that this isn’t the first time I have CASED her swap samples …..remember this card....….  so thanks more than once Michelle!!!  Now I can’t see the original card on Michelles’ blog so thought I should share her original here too as the colour scheme is SO vibrant.

Beautiful Butterflies #2 – All A Flutter Diorama Card

2012_08_Beautiful Butterflies at The Craft Spa 068_resizeHere is a second card from our butterflies class.

This card is CASED from the absolutely gorgeous Christmas card we all made at Jules Jems training back in July which was cased from Julies birthday card by Sally Jo Houghton. Having always been a lover of a Diorama card – this was right up my street!!

This is a very clever Diorama card made from just one piece of A4 card. Just cut in half into two A5 pieces and score each LANDSCAPE piece at 1”; 2” and 8”. Die cut the aperture. Emboss the front panel with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. Adhere together using the narrow sections. Add some die cut labels and a few rolled flowers & cut-out butterflies. And there you have it……

2012_07 199_resizeApologies for the delay in posting the details of how to make this name plate that I published earlier - but DH being at home & family holidays scuppered all my blog posting plans!! So now that I have had a well earned rest….. back to it…..

Scallop Square #22 – Double Swinging Z-Fold Card for Mothers Day

2012_07 210_resize

And here is the card that proved the most popular at the Team Training event last month.

I don’t think the photos do it justice but I know those of you at the Team Training will remember!!

2012_07 206_resize

A lot of people thought that this looked intricate and complicated – but actually it isn’t really…. though there are steps that HAVE to be done in a certain order or it doesn’t work….. ( and yes I learnt the hard way….)

2012_03_Scallop Square1 07_resize

Quite a few photos from different angles here to hopefully portray the card as effectively as possible…..

2012_03_Scallop Square1 08_resizeAnd I can’t wait to make a Christmas version sometime soon. I am just waiting ( patiently!!!) to be able to order a few new papers and stamp sets. Not long now for me and my fellow demos……. And only 3 weeks (1st September) for everyone else…… with the launch of our first-time-ever Autumn/ Winter catty here in Europe…… Yay!!!

I started to do a step by step – but there are a few strategic photos that would be best taken and my camera battery has just died….. and DH is complaining about how long I have been on the PC today…….oops – he is right……. So sorry… that will have to be for another day……

SU! Supplies

Dies – Scallop Square Die; Embosslits - Beautiful Wings

Scallop Square #21 – Scallop Pinwheel

2012_07 198_resizeJust another really quick post.

I should probably explain… DH is on holidays for a fortnight – so I am not getting my usual quota of PC time…….

These pinwheels are just SO easy. There are lots of photo and video tutorials all over the web – so I am not going to reinvent the (pin) wheel…. here is a link to the one I used  Make a pinwheel. There are some pictures there.  Though I have to admit that I didn’t draw any lines… this is all I did….

1. Die cut DSP Scallop Square

2. Place diagonally on trimmer & cut from 0 to 2” and 4” to 6”

3. Repeat for other diagonal

4. Make a mark to right of cut line at each corner

5. Hand punch a hole through those marks

6. Bring corner holes together at the centre & feed onto the brad prongs

7. Push brad through centre of base of pinwheel & open brad prongs at the back to secure

8. Cover brads with punched 1” circle

SU! Supplies

Dies – Scallop Square

Punches – 1” Circle; 2mm Hand Punch

Card & Paper – Sweet Shop

Scallop Square #20 – Lollipop Holder

2012_07 213_resizeNow this one is a really simple one-minute project!!!

Difficult to get a decent photo of though. Especially as I could only find mini chupa-chups when I made it – it would have been even better with a bigger lollipop!!

But there were lots of oohs and aahs at this one at my Team Training Inspiration Table last month – so thought I should share…..

So here are the quick steps needed.

1. Die cut a Scallop Square out of double sided-paper

2. Score 3 scallops in on each side

3. Score 4 corners diagonally across the outer square

4. Bone Fold all score lines ( straights as mountains and diagonals as valleys)

5. Hand punch peaks at centre

6. Put lollipop in centre

7. Thread & tie ribbon through the punched holes to close

8. Stamp flower etc.

9. Poke hole through centres

10. Poke lolly stick through those holes to attach……

And I have just realised that this is an old photo – as my final sample has a couple of Lucky Limeade leaves added to the flower using the Blossoms Petal Builder Punch. Too late/dark for a photo now – so I will have to add that version another day!!

SU! Supplies

Dies – Scallop Square Die

Stamps – Mixed Bunch

Punches – Blossoms; Blossoms Petal Builder Punch ( for leaves not in this photo!! Oops)

Scallop Square #19 – The Craft Spa Name Plate

2012_07 199_resize Even quicker post to day!!! Just don’t know where today went…..

Here is a very quick name plate project I did. I think I have to redo in my blog colours though so I can put it on as my blog header!!! What do you think?? I am thinking Island Indigo, Pool Party and maybe one other!!

The First Edition papers, the Just Believe stamp set and the Alphabet Simple Letters Bigz dies made this very quick work indeed. Not forgetting my favourite buddy  - the Scallop Square die…. And the best bit of such a quick project…. I absolutely loved it when it was finished….. I can see me making these for lots of people….

I’ll be back to edit this post with the card size, die placement and scoring dimensions tomorrow  – but for now, I really must dash. Supposed to be somewhere else ( so hope they are not checking out my blog at the moment!! If so  - sorry I am on my way – honest!!!)

SU! Supplies

Dies – Scallop Square; Alphabet Simple Letters

Stamps – Just Believe

Card & Paper – First Edition; Sahara Sand; Basic Black; Calypso Coral

Scallop Square #18 – Creative Elements Scallop C6 card

2012_07 194_resize Just a quick post to show you a standard c6 card with the addition of a rectangular scallop mat using the Scallop Square die.

This card is made using images from the Creative Elements stamp set and the FRIEND wording from the For My Family set along with the hostess-only Happiest Birthday Wishes set. ( which must be be my most used hostess set ever…)

BUT I really LOVE this From My Family stamp set (or Family Reunion set to my US friends!). Not only does it have virtually every family member represented – but some general greetings too. Great wording set to be able to stamp to make every family member feel really special…. and it can be used not just for cards – but also for some special scrapbooking pages….  I have added an image of the whole set so you can see what I mean.
